Would you like to come by and jam with us?
The Musical Heritage Center of Middle Tennessee, a new music school and performance hall in Pegram (on the West side of the city) now holds the Tuesday night jam on the first and third Tuesday of every month. Check their website for a full calendar and map.
Share a tune with us
Do you know an Old Time tune that should be on our list? We are always interested in expanding our knowledge of songs. We'd like to create a page on this website that would hold Old Time tunes sent in by folks who use our website as a tune resource.
To keep to the mission of the Pegram Jam -- sharing Old Time tunes in a contemporary way -- we have some guidelines that we ask you to respect if you'd like to share a tune on our website:
• We only accept .mp3 files; no conversion is available
• Any tune you send us must be from the Public Domain
• The recording must be of an authentic Old Time tune played in an Old Time style
• The melody must be clear and consistent in the recording
• Tell us everything you know about where the song came from, where the recording was made, and who is playing on the recording
• You must own the copyright to the recording you send to us and agree to submit your copyrighted recording to the Public Domain, globally giving up any right to compensation for use of that recording
• Please do not send self-authored tunes or contemporary renditions
• Send only one song per email; file size limit is 5MB
• Attach your .mp3 file to an email and put the words "NEW TUNE" in the subject line
We can't promise we'll post every song we get. We have to check out the copyrights on all tunes we get, so that might slow us down. But if you have an Old Time tune we all should learn, please let the Pegram Jam help.
